Tenunan/Weaving
In Peninsular Malaysia, the weaving of silk and cotton fabrics without gold thread is known as "Tenunan Biasa" or the "Common" type using the same type of handloom as that of songket.
Other types of weaving include 'Kain Selit Benang Emas', 'Kain Cindai’ and 'Kain Limar' or ‘Limau', the latter two through the 'tie and dye’ technique, found also in Sabah and Sarawak.
