Pewter is an alloy composed of tin and other metals. The molten metal which is 'lead-free' today, is poured into preheated steel mould, filed and polished. The more complicated item are cast in several parts and soldered together so effeciently that one find is difficult to detect the joints.
The majority of the pewter's products are still hand-made and make fabulous gift and momentous today.
Tengkolok or the Malay head-dress is part of the royal costume of the Malay sultanate. This Tengkolok is made from highly polished fine Malaysian pewter and plated with gold.
