Labu Sayong

The state of Perak is famous for its "Labu Sayong". "Sayong" is an area or rather a village in Kuala Kangsar hence, the place where "Labu Sayong" is produced. The pottery will be shaped like a bottle gourd and is black in colour due to the open klin method of burning. "Labu Sayong" has three parts, the top is small while the middle section is bulged but smaller the bottom section. It is mainly used to store drinking water as it acts as a refrigerator.

It is believed that it has medicinal values. "Labu Sayong" is made from the soft clay found abundantly river bank of Perak/
