SYARIKAT PEMASARAN KARYANEKA SDN BHD, popularly and commercially known as “KARYANEKA”, was established in 1982 as a wholly owned corporate entity of the Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation, which is a statutory agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Malaysia.
Wood Craft
The chosen timber must be air-dried prior to carving. Male artisans work in small workshops, often situated within the compound of their house. They use a various blade, adze, chisels mallets, and other woodworking tools to saw, drill, chisel, and carve. The finished work then polished using coarse mempelas leaves.
