SYARIKAT PEMASARAN KARYANEKA SDN BHD, popularly and commercially known as “KARYANEKA”, was established in 1982 as a wholly owned corporate entity of the Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation, which is a statutory agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Malaysia.
RIBU RIBU
Ribu ribu or Lygodium is a type of creeping fern that has the capacity for indefinite growth, often reaching lengths of several meters’.
This plant combined with rattan is used by the ethnic of Rungus in Kudat, northern part of Sabah to produce beautiful products such as baskets and boxes using the weaving technique. Ribu-Ribu is also known as Lingkon in the Rungus language.
Traditionally these products are used as multi containers such betel nut and herb container. Nowadays they are used as fruit bowls, trays, place mats, coasters, containers and interior decoration pieces.
