Ceramics in Malaysia made its first appearance during the Neolithic age. They were used as basic utensils for everyday use. It only later that the decorative features were added on and the ceramics became decorative items in order to create shapes which are both artistic and unique, the clay is kneaded, processed, carved or engraved with various designs, smoked and fired.The diligent determination of potters to explore new dimension of their clay clearly seen in their hard work where traditional elements merge with cotemporary approaches to produce a variety of item such as bowls, all-purpose containers, picture frame and wall plaques.
