Pewter is an alloy composed of tin and other metals. The molten metal which is 'lead-free' today, is poured into preheated steel mould, filed and polished. The more complicated item are cast in several parts and soldered together so effeciently that one find is difficult to detect the joints.
The majority of the pewter's products are still hand-made and make fabulous gift and momentous today.
The Sompoton is a traditional kadazan music instruments for the Dusun tribes in Sabah, Malaysia. It is made of adouble raft of eight bamboo pipes inserted into a gourd. This Sompoton is made from highly polished fine Malaysian pewter and plated with 24 K gold.
Care Instruction :
1. Wash in soapy water using sponge
