Ceramics in Malaysia made its first appearance during the Neolithic Age as basic utensils for everyday use. It is only later that the decorative features were added on and the ceramics became decorative items.

To create shapes that are both artistic and unique, the clay is kneaded, processed, carved or engraved with various designs, smoked and fired.

The diligent determination of potters to explore new dimensions of their crafts are seen in their handiwork where traditional elements merge with contemporary approaches to produce a variety of items such as bowls, all-purpose containers, picture frame, and wall plaques.
