KARYANEKA has a wide collection of rich items of handicraft reflecting Malaysia's ethnic and cultural heritage. The centre sells batik, rattan baskets, blowpipes, Sarawak woodcarvings, Kelantanese silvercraft which come from the four corner of Malaysia. Moreover, the collection comprises some one thousand and more tablewares, beautiful gifts, home decors and souvenir items. Besides KARYANEKA, there is also a Craft Museum which concentrates on exhibiting culture. You will find dioramas that portray life-sized figures of craftsmen at work, complete with their work tools. The effect is to recreate the original atmosphere and settings to give visitors the total experience, be it of songket weaving, brass work, woodcarving, traditional blacksmith, batik painting or pottery making.

Visitors may also be able to acquire some hands-on experience, as activities like do-it-yourself weaving and also batik painting. KARYANEKA, Malaysia's well known handicraft and souvenir centre, is a subsidiary of Perbadanan Kemajuan Kraftangan Malaysia, a government agency, entrusted to market Malaysian handicraft and souvenir items produced by Malaysia's own craftsmen and small industries. Established in 1982, this one-stop shopping centre has shifted to a new location at Kompleks Kraf Kuala Lumpur (KKKL), Jalan Conlay, about 500 metres away from its former place. For 15 beautiful years, KARYANEKA's main showroom at Jalan Raja Chulan had created a pleasant experience in the memory of many foreign visitors as an adorable handicrafts village. Being just a mere 10 minute walk from the Golden Triangle, where luxurious hotels and shopping malls are located, it promises a one-stop craft shopping experience to every visitors.
